I’m rating House of Mantou 5 stars because the food that we ate there was delicious, and the staff were very friendly. Also, I like the ambience. Even though it’s on the busy Quezon Avenue, it doesn’t feel like it when you’re inside.
We enjoyed their fried rice, choice cold cuts, dumplings, and stir-fried kangkong stems which was a surprise. It has that crunch and bit of spiciness to it that we all love, perfect for balancing the heavy Chinese cuisine.
Also, it didn’t take a long time for our orders to be cooked, and we went out of the restaurant very full. It was a nice, slightly casual Chinese dining experience. I think they also do deliveries.
The place is small, but the pork congee, dimsum platter and chicken feet are good.
Little place on the way home. Get satisfying warm food while you watch the rain outside.
I tried this House of Mantou once and they give justice to their name. I ordered Mantou with vanilla ice cream. The mantou is coated with caramelized sugar and it’s melting in my mouth. The taste is overwhelming. The branch is located between Cordillera Street and Banawe Street, Quezon Avenue, Quezon City.
Finally got to try it as it’s a Sunday afternoon and lo and behold, there’s a place to park the car. So we’re trying an old favorite, sliced pork congee with century egg. The place interior design is cozy and well laid out. The toilet’s clean.
